In between chefs you will have time to browse our enormous food tents, offering a huge selection of different foods, drink and cookery gadgets. With a try before you buy approach, it’s best not to have too big a breakfast before you arrive!
In the smaller Food Roadshow marquee we also have a full line-up of chefs and producers to entertain you. Andy Kelly, creator of the famous Star Wars desserts will be there on Sunday; Carmela Sereno Hayes will be demonstrating Italian cookery, and The Crabstock Boys will be weaving tales of the sea, and showing you how to cook what you catch.
There will be the usual piazza area, where you can browse the many foods on offer, both local and global; have a cream tea at Auntie Christine’s Tea Room; try the delicious Thai or Laos cuisine from Somtai Thai; or maybe some Carribbean food from Mama Jacq’s. With a whole parade of different cuisines to try, you are likely to find something to please every in the family – and you will be spoilt for choice!
Also in the Piazza, listen to some of the live music from The FB Pocket Orchestra, Saxaphonix and Take 6
Real Ale Tent
And while you listen, enjoy a pint of real ale from our Real Ale Tent in the sunshine (hopefully)! We have a selection of wines and ciders to suit every taste.
Or if wine is more your thing, you will enjoy our wine tasting sessions, out on for us again by Brothers Wines.
Fruit De Mer Restaurant
You may also want to take advantage of our Fruit De Mer restaurant, new for 2016, and enjoy a sea food lunch (bookings taken ahead of show).
We also have workshops for the children to get involved with –
The Chocolate Tree – biscuit icing
Polka Dot Bakes – learn how to make fondant icing cake decorations
Of course there is plenty more to do for all the family, with children’s amusements and absorbing make and take craft workshops. Moment In Time Living History enactors will be demonstrating cookery before the times of microwaves and woks: watch them in action and take a recipe card with ideas for your next open fire.
There’s a craft marquee with various artists both selling and demonstrating their pieces: glassblowing demonstrations on the hour, and chainsaw carving throughout the day, with speed carves twice daily and auctions of the finished pieces straight after.
Come and enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of the first
Northampton Food & Drink Festival!
