The Crabstock Boys consist of Food Blogger “Andy Hunting” and Fisherman “Adrian Bartlett”, there demos are very unique with Adi showing the audience how to pick a whole crab just using a rolling pin and a teaspoon, whilst telling many a fisherman’s tale about life on the open seas, meanwhile you will find Andy cooking up dishes such as Naked Mussels, Lobster in Lemon Butter, and Crab Linguine to name just a few. The demos are fun, informative and very tasty.
The boys met at a Food festival 4 years ago and Crabstock Festivals© Ltd was born a few months later. Crabstock’s ©sole purpose is to promote the UK’s Seafood & Shellfish Industry and to try to inspire us to eat more of the great produce that can be found in the UK’s waters.
Here is some more info on Andy & Adi:
Andy has always been passionate about food, growing up on hearty stews and glorious puddings which in Andy’s eyes are real comfort food… and after his mother sadly passed away he decided in February 2010 to write a blog called “Andys Kitchen” to keep some of her recipes alive, and for a place for him to post some of his culinary ideas.
Years later and his blog is now one of the most popular in the UK, and now features recipes, competitions, reviews and much more. Through his blog he was asked to become part of the BBC Good Food Show Blogging Community, where he enjoyed meeting some amazing artisan producers, who asked Andy for his help in promoting their products, and he also got to meet and interview some great Chefs including Tom Kerridge, The Hairy Bikers, Paul Rankin and Brian Turner.
Adrian Bartlett started fishing in 1987, Starting as a deckhand then working his way up to skipper on Crabbing boats or potters based in Kingswear South Devon. Adrian has fished for Edible brown crabs and native lobster all around the UK coast but mainly built his crabbing career in the English Channel in the tidal waters North of Alderney (Channel Islands) on various boats and for various owners.
After working in the industry for 25 years and being passionate about the UK Seafishing Industry, an opportunity arose where he could share his knowledge and passion with the UK public and chefs to show how good UK Shellfish is to eat and how easy it is to pick a crab without fear, so Crabstock Shellfish Festival© Ltd was born!
This year at the majority of Living Heritage events you will have the opportunity to take home a taste of the coast, because the Crabstock Seafood Shack will be open, where you will be able to take home your own cooked Crab or Lobster (to pick yourselves), or there will be dressed versions. There will also be a superb mixture of different varieties of fresh seafood & shellfish to purchase. All our products are caught in the UK and will be Fresh and sustainable.
You will also have the opportunity at our Food Festivals, to dine at our exclusive ‘Fruit De Mer’ restaurant. Click here for details.
